I've wanted to prepare an actual introduction to this section of my web site for some time now; something a little more personal than what you see here today. However, I can never seem to get caught up with my other work. There's always another paper to write, another novel to read, notes to transcribe, or class to prepare for -- and then there's that stack of freshman essays calling to me. Sigh... The joys of graduate school. Anyway, this intro is going to have to serve for now.

The photo you see was taken in 1998 -- I've long since cut my hair. I've kept this photo on the Web page both out of a sense of nostalgia and because I don't really have anything more recent that I care to post. Besides, my students usually get a kick out of it.

I'm not currently "on the market," but I've included my vitae and resume on this site for a number of reasons: so that my students may know my credentials, and for those times I consult with outside companies. There are still a few spots under construction, but most of this is current and complete.
